Beautiful Ceci

Wednesday I had the pleasure of getting together with my friend, Ceci for a quick & fun photo shoot at one of my favorite places, The Riparian Reserve in Gilbert aka “the bird park”.

This past year, Ceci has been diagnosed with MDS, a disorder of the blood and her life has been turned upside down, as well as her families and everyone close to them. Please visit her blog, HERE to read about her journey and how you can help.

This necklace was given to her by a close family friend who’s son passed away at age 23 of neuroblastoma…she gave Ceci this necklace saying that he was her guardian angel.

Different Perspective

Santa brought Abby a shiny new camera for Christmas so right before the new year, she and I got together with my good friend, Lisa and her lovely daughter, Savanah to test the goods. We went for a picture taking adventure at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve

The girls were so much fun and were more than happy to pose for the camera…

I just love their enthusiasm, they get so excited to photograph everything around them. Kids definitely see things from a different perspective and they often spot things we adults sometimes miss.

Abby tripped and her camera fell into a little duck poo, no worries…no damage was done, although she didn’t touch the camera the rest of the afternoon.

Homecoming Parade

Oh, I love the local high school’s homecoming parade that comes right through our neighborhood! You always know it’s coming when you hear those drums in the distance – we’ve lived here for many years and we’re “in between” high schoolers, but it’s still something I look forward to.

There’s nothing better than to have a top notch band march right by your house.

The kids love scrambling for candy thrown from the floats.

Little League All-Stars

It’s summertime and that means All-star baseball!

The coaches are amazing and put in so much time and hard work, we really appreciate their effort and dedication to the team.
Our team was in a three way tie for first place, we just found out tonight that the boys will not be advancing because of some little league rule about runs scored against that I still don’t understand – I think they got ripped off.
Great job boys, you had a nice run…sorry to see it end.

Bird Nerd

I seriously could have sat outside all day today…what a great morning with the rainy cool weather….I’ve been bundled up under a blanket out there for hours.

…and I do have to admit I’m pretty much a bird dork, I LOVE my backyard birds…they were enjoying the weather too!

We named this one Hector the Nectar Protector…he was so busy trying to chase all of the other hummingbirds away.

There was a time where we counted about 8 or 9 of them buzzing around at once.

Mr. Murray is an elderly guy…95 in dog years! Still looks pretty handsome, don’t you think?

Cinthya & Troy Married!

Last week David and I flew to Vegas on a Tuesday – how fun is that! But the best part was being able to witness the marriage Troy and Cinthya!

Troy and David have been friends since Junior High School… here they are getting ready.

The ceremony was held at the G O R G E O U S Wynn Hotel in the Lilac Wedding Salon, it was very intimate and beautiful.

Last Wednesday was the Elementary School spelling bee, Abby, my fourth grader was representing her classroom. Secretly I was hoping she wouldn’t be the first one to spell a word incorrectly, so after a fellow student heard the bell and was disqualified I breathed a sigh of relief – seventeen students later… Abby and another girl (a sixth grader) were left standing! It was pretty exciting – not gonna lie. The two went back and forth for a few words, then Abby was given the word elite…Abby’s reply, “elite, a l i t e”. Oh, so close – but what a good sport she was – 2nd place is still pretty cool!

Way to go Abby!

Look who showed up just for the graduation – Troy Bolton! This was hilarious, the owner of the HSM cardboard cutie (the guy on the left) actually tried to take it onto the field during graduation.

I can’t believe its already been four and a half years since we drove Amie up to Flagstaff and dropped her off at Reilly Hall @ NAU….and now she’s graduating! Crazy how time flies! Amie, were SO proud of you!

I just wanted to share some photos that Amie’s friend, the very talented Dana Felthauser took of her a few weeks ago to put into her graduation announcements. Thanks Dana! These are awesome!
